**Server, VG Lounge at the Fairmont**

As a Server in the VG Lounge, you will ensure all guests receive exceptional service by consistently offering professional, friendly, warm, and engaging service.

**What you will be doing**:

- Set up food & beverage service and clear tables in the VG Lounge.
- Ensure exceptional service to guests with strong sales skills.
- Ensures all guests have a memorable experience in dining.
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of Lounge policies & procedures and service standards as outlined by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
- Have complete knowledge of the menu and beverage lists in the outlets and all other special promotions taking place in the hotel. Knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
- To be able to answer any guest questions about menu items in an informative and helpful way.
- Responsible for up-selling.
- Ensure all bills are handled in an accurate manner.
- Adhere to health & safety policy and ensure safe work practices are followed at all times.
- Adhere to the hotel’s environmental policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all allergy policies.
- Demonstrate service promise standards and values.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Your experience and skills include**:

- Previous serving experience with an advanced level of liquor, wine, and beer knowledge.
- Wine knowledge in F&B an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food pairing and menu descriptions coupled with a passion for food.
- “Smart Choices” responsible liquor service certification required.
- Service-oriented, team player, flexible in a high-paced environment, and able to handle pressure with grace.
- Excellent verbal & written English communication skills.
- Must be able to complete all physical aspects of the job without restriction, i.e. Lift 25+ lbs at a time, stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
- Fluency in a second language an asset.
- Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and must work well in a team environment.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or holidays.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-25 per week

**Salary**: $14.39 per hour
