**Group Summary**:

- Transport material to and from the workcells using the manual material handling equipment provided.
- Store material on the storage racks and around the workcells as per the foot print and part #’s posted.
- Stage materials for the operators as required.
- Perform Min/Max and cycle counts as required.
- Perform the duties as a Machine Operator whenever required.
- Perform the duties as a Material Handler whenever required.

**As a Machine Operator**:

- Operate all equipment (presses, air fixtures, hand tools, assembly fixtures, etc.) as per operator instructions sheets. This is accomplished by selecting and placing blanks or rolled sections into the equipment / machine, transferring parts from station to station, and activating the equipment.
- Inspect parts at the frequency and according to the method described in the inspection instruction sheets.
- Report any product non-conformance to the Supervisor or Leadhand immediately. Suggest corrective action where applicable.
- Ensure the proper reporting of production by assuring that the counter is set to zero at the beginning of the shift, accurately reports production on the direct labour time sheet at the end of the production run or the end of the shift and reset the counter to zero.
- Tag or label each container at the machine prior to filling and fill each container with the proper number of parts indicated on the packaging instruction sheets or production requirements.
- Ensure machine and work area are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times. Assure that their area is clean at the end of the production run or shift and ready for the next shift.
- Co-operate with the safety committee.
- Complete and record equipment safety checks prior to the operation of the equipment. Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor immediately.
- Participate in work cell rotation as required.
- Perform SPC of parts as required.
- Maintain part quality as per part specific work instructions.
- Required to obtain efficiency rates as per the program standards.

**As a Material Handler**:

- Ensure that bins/boxes of goods, parts, components, scrap, metal rolls and other goods are in the proper location at proper time.
- Ensure scrap and parts bins are always available at each work station. Follows instructions of Production Supervisor and/or Senior Shipper.
- Load raw material onto presses as required in a timely manner to minimize machine down time.
- Keep lift truck maintained, fuelled and/or charged and in a safe working condition according to specified instructions.
- Keep in process materials and raw materials properly organized and easily accessible in designated area.
- Verify counts and part identification of parts in storage containers at the time of removal from the work station. Keep record of the same, give information to Production Supervisor at the end of each shift.
- Alway operate lift truck according to safety procedures. Keep working area in a clean, tidy and safe manner at all times.
