**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The Technical Writer is responsible for developing, editing and/or writing technical deliverables, for water and wastewater projects. The deliverables will include operational tools (procedures, forms, etc.), technical research reports as well as management reports. The Technical Writer will be provided with unique water and wastewater projects, and with the support of a senior consultant, research, relevant training and develop potential solutions, crafting this information into concisely worded and formatted deliverables that can be easily absorbed and understood by the target audience.

As a key member of our Water and Wastewater Consulting Group, this role will have an exciting opportunity to directly support water and wastewater improvements in Canada and internationally, working directly with the clients to identify and support positive change, incentives and innovations.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support water/wastewater process consulting projects through research, data management/analysis and investigation, and deliverable development;
- Develop wastewater and drinking water operating manuals, standard operating procedures, emergency plans and other relevant policies and procedures;
- Support Sr staff to investigate and prepare responses to client challenges (operations, maintenance, management, minor design);
- Work closely with Sr staff and client staff on operational, maintenance and management challenges, both virtually and on-site.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines;
- Proofread reports of others.

**WORKING ENVIRONMENT**

Aureus Solutions is a niche water and wastewater consulting company, specializing in the areas of operations, design review, maintenance and management. We have supported clients since 2005 at over 300 treatment systems (municipal and industrial) across Canada, the US and the Caribbean on consulting, training, sampling and contract operations projects. Our services include:

- Water risk, compliance and process assessments;
- Water Quality Management System and Sanitary Survey auditing;
- Operation and maintenance policy, plans, procedures, forms, templates and checklists;
- Operations, maintenance and management training;
- Process evaluations in areas of management, design, operations and maintenance;
- Treatment system selection, options analysis reviews, and design reviews;
- Water and wastewater sampling;
- Contract operations;
- Corporate standardization for water and wastewater management.

Our approach involves working directly with the operators, supervisors and managers to collaboratively define the problem (from all stakeholders), what options are available to fit the unique cultural and resource needs of the client, determine what resources are needed to sustain these solutions, and finally supporting the supervisors and managers to implement and sustain the solutions.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word;
- Exceptional writing, editing and formatting skills;
- Ability to work independently (strong planning, organization, and time management skills);
- Confidence to directly and independently communicate with clients, suppliers, others;
- French (written and oral) is an asset but not required.
- Ability to travel on occasion within Canada.
