**Position Title: Production Technician**

**Department: Primecare**

**Reports to: Assoc. Director, Tech Systems & Quality Control**

**Position Summary**:

- Perform various aspects of Primecare membrane manufacturing, including, formulation, casting, coating, cutting, labeling, and in-process testing of membrane production.
- Follow and adhere to IPOC’s Standard Operating Procedures/Good Manufacturing Practices and verbal instructions.
- Assist in the set-up, operation, and maintenance of IPOCs production equipment.
- Examine components in the production process and flag potential defects or quality issues.
- Assist in managing production inventory, selection, and segregation of raw materials.
- Helps keep the facility clean and organized.
- Assist in the development and writing of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide feedback during IPOC’s departmental meetings.

**Education and Experience**:

- High School Diploma/equivalent or 1-2 years experience in a related discipline (production/packaging setting).
- Experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and performing routine inspection or test procedures as required
- Basic knowledge of computers (MS Office)
- Demonstrated organizational abilities and proven attention to detail
- Experience following Standard Operating Procedures or similar protocols (work instructions).
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

**Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities**:

- Performs various aspects of product manufacturing and assembly including, but not limited to formulation, casting, coating, cutting and in-process testing of membranes. Sets up and runs printing processes.
- Follows and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures/Good Manufacturing Practices and verbal instructions; completes records as required.
- Assists in setting up, operation and maintenance of production equipment.
- Prepares polymers for various types of membranes from raw materials
- Assists in the determination of the correct casting parameters for each polymer based on in-process testing specifications
- Ensures completion of work on schedule in keeping with priorities determined by the Department Head.
- Maintains department documentation such as database updates, inventory records.
- Maintain raw material and in-process material inventories and ensures availability of materials for use, based on production schedule and expiry dating.
- Provide input to process improvements and assists with the development of new and/or improved manufacturing procedures.
- Examine components in the assembly process and flags potential defects or quality issues.
- Help keep the facility clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Scope and Accountabilities**:
Applies job skills and the company’s policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Normally receives general instruction on routine work, and detailed instructions on new assignments.

Flexible hours between 8 am and 5:30 pm
