**Small Animal Associate Veterinarian**
**Location**:Tavistock & Hickson clinics - Ontario
**Reports To**:Small Animal Partner Veterinarians
**Job Summary**:The Veterinarian performs duties to ensure the quality care and treatment of all Tavistock Veterinarians Professional Corporation [TVPC] patients. It is expected of the Vets to handle all animals with the utmost humane treatment, ensuring mínimal stress. The purpose of this role is to accomplish the above-mentioned quality care while working with the animal care and medical team and collectively navigating the client care relationship.
**Job Duties**:
- Veterinary duties as required o Tasks, roles, and responsibilities will vary based on need and qualifications - Provide daily care to animals
- Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations
- Communicate and support clients in developing care plans for their animals
- Support pet owners in making informed decisions concerning animal health and treatment
- Assist the other veterinarians and staff members in procedures and surgeries as able
- Collect information and input client data
- Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in animals through physical examinations and/or laboratory tests
- Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, or performing procedures or surgery as required
- Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases
- Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals
- Provide intentional and exceptional support for your coworkers, clients, and clinic in various areas of work
- Organize and coordinate assigned work
- Supervise Veterinary Technicians and other animal care workers
- May conduct veterinary research related to areas such as animal nutrition, health care product development, and disease prevention, control, and treatment
- May enforce government regulations in disease control
**Qualifications**:
- Able to work in Canada
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- A reasonable amount of experience in veterinary medicine
- Graduation from a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program
- Successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination
- Membership and registration to the College of Veterinarians of Ontario

**Salary**: $40.00-$66.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Tavistock, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Membership with the CVO (required)
- completion of the NAVLE (preferred)
