**Wage**: $16.74/hour

**What do you offer?**
The Section Support Staff will support a group of Camp Counsellors who work with a group of 6-10 participants in a day camp capacity. The Section Support Staff is responsible for assisting Camp Counsellors with behavior management of campers. The Section Support Staff will be responsible for attendance of campers each morning and program assistance.

- New Discoveries (6Y-7Y)
- Pioneers (8Y-9Y)
- Explorers and Young Wonders (10Y-13Y)
- Specialty and Leadership (8Y-16Y)
- Overnight (8Y-14Y)
**Some of the tasks of this position include**:
- Implementing tools to manage campers’ behaviour.
- Supporting frontline staff in daily tasks.
- Providing high quality program facilitation.
- Helping ensure staff are provided with activity templates and assisting in organizing schedule changes for groups.
- Delivering quality programming in accordance with safety protocols and standard practices.

**Language**
- Ability to work in English
- Bilingualism is an asset
**Experience, Skills and Abilities**
- Standard First Aid and CPR “C” or equivalent
- National Lifeguard Certification, Bronze Cross, Paddle Canada, or other relevant certifications will be strongly considered as assets
- CUI Level 1 or Level 2 or previous high ropes experience/hours are considered as assets
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with program participants, members, staff and volunteers
- Ability to maintain calm demeanor in stressful situations
- Ability to act as a positive role model for campers, staff and volunteers
**Additional Requirements**
- Must be 18 years old by June 24, 2024.
- Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
- Semi-annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
