Milestone Equipment Contracting Inc is excited to offer an opportunity for a **Traffic Control Supervisor** to join our experienced & professional team

A Traffic Control Supervisor plays a critical role in the successful completion of Milestones projects. Milestone is a civil excavation company and regularly completes work that requires the facilitation of onsite traffic control, management of the overall traffic control team, and its resources. Milestone's civil division works on a variety of different projects. The work includes civil & infrastructure, environmental construction, industrial & commercial, residential development, landscaping, and much more

The Traffic Control Supervisor must be someone who is extremely safety-conscious, an effective communicator, and is well versed and knowledgeable with all current WorkSafeBC regulations and traffic control requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities - What is my role?_**
- Supervise a diverse team of individuals, performing a wide variety of tasks in the traffic control sector
- Establish and maintain crew schedules
- Ensure the safe implementation of site wide Traffic Management Plans
- Perform site audits to ensure compliance with TMP’s and WorkSafeBC regulations
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed daily
- Setup, maintain, and inspect traffic control equipment, in accordance with the traffic management plan
- Request the procurement of traffic control materials, equipment, and/or supplies
- Commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, with a zero-injury culture.
- Effectively work with the traveling public and represent the company in a respectful and professional way
- Actively monitor the construction site, and pedestrian and vehicle traffic to ensure safety of the crew and the public
- Help promote and work within a culture of jobsite safety, where safety is everyone’s 1st priority
- Mentor and support staff, promoting a positive "CAN-DO" attitude and providing performance feedback
- Ensure any work zone deficiencies are corrected in timely manner
- Monitor inventory delivered and returned so no equipment is lost or forgotten on site
- Attend and participate in regular onsite safety meetings
- Identify and locate equipment working on the site
- Control traffic from highly visible and safe positions
- Respond to emergency situations and hazards
- Leadership of traffic control team to ensure all projects are supported, are aligned with all TMPs and traffic control needs
- Elevating any/all personnel concerns to management and helping facilitate progressive and positive solutions for any presented challenges

Skills & Qualifications include:

- Must hold a valid TCP certification in BC
- Must hold a valid Traffic Control Lane Closures certification (LCT) in BC
- Must have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
- Must have 2-3 years of experience as a Traffic Control Supervisor
- Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs, and work outdoors while standing for extended periods under varying weather conditions
- Experience working on highways and Ministry of Transportation projects is an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work individually and in a team
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to interact with members of the public in a professional and respectf
