**Position Overview**
As a Line Cook and team member with Trico Living Well, you will have the opportunity to work in a modern, dynamic kitchen with a focus on local fresh ingredients, innovative menus and approaches to food preparation, catering to a diverse audience, including seniors with dietary restrictions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Corporate Executive Chef, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, including daily specials and themed meals.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner, adhering to safety, sanitation, and dietary standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of special meals and catering events as needed.
- Provide support to other kitchen staff in various duties as needed, including assisting with dishwashing or prepping ingredients.
- Ensure adherence to dietary restrictions, including gluten-free, diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, and other specialized meal requirements for residents.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- 1-2 years of experience as a Line Cook, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or restaurant environment.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent training is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (Food Handler Certification is a plus & Pro serve are an asset)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to dietary needs and customize dishes for special diets.
- Passionate about cooking and delivering high-quality meals with a focus on wellness and nutrition.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have received COVID-19 vaccination and annual flu shots.
- Completion of a Police Check and Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to employment.
