**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title**:Café Royale Manager
- **Responsible to**:_ Auxiliary Operations Manager

**Qualifications: Education**:
I. Minimum High School diploma or GED
II. College diploma in business or related field

III. Food Handling Certification - must be maintained

**Experience**:
I. 3-5 years managing in a food service or QSR environment
II. Previous experience managing diverse teams of individuals

**Competencies**:
I. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
II. Highly organized with strong attention to detail

III. Excellent client relationship and customer service skills
IV. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop direct reports during times of change and shifting priorities
V. Proven ability to promote and market businesses through appropriate pricing and inventory control

VI. Valid drivers license, clean driving record and access to reliable vehicle

**Position Summary**:
Responsible for the profitability and overall operations of the Café Royale

**Responsibilities**:
**Communication**:

- Effectively communicate and implement directives, policy and procedures with staff and volunteers
- Maintain a positive working relationship with suppliers, salespeople, volunteers, staff, Team RVH and other customers.
- Assign staff and volunteer duties and assignments
- Ensure staff and volunteers provide exemplary customer service and assist when required

**Staffing**:

- Ensure scheduling of staff and volunteers to meet the needs of the business
- Hire and onboard staff in conjunction with the Director of Operations
- Conduct regular performance reviews in conjunction with the Director of Operations
- Ensure appropriate and timely training of staff and volunteers regarding operational standards

**Inventory**:

- Maintain appropriate inventory of products and supplies
- Ensure turnover of perishable/non-perishable stock to maximize profitably and minimize shrink. Maintain documentation of expired and destroyed goods
- Ensure proper mix of merchandise to maximize profitability and meet target sales

**Equipment Maintenance**:

- Ensure regular preventive maintenance (PM) of equipment takes place to keep in good working order following written schedules
- Maintain appropriate documentation and logs of all PM’s
- Maintain knowledge of equipment functions and safety features.

**Health & Safety**:

- Ensure proper Safe Food Handling standards are followed i.e.: temperature checks and logging of same
- Maintain standards as per Public Health Regulations
- Ensure all staff are up to date with WHIMIS and other certifications
- Ensure RVH and Auxiliary policies and procedures are followed by staff and volunteers

**Financial Responsibilities**:

- Ensure proper cash controls and auditing to protect assets of the Auxiliary
- Ensure daily deposits are balanced and reports any discrepancies to the Operations Manager
- Ensure appropriate cash and coin floats are available and maintained
- Complete accurate and timely reports as requested

**POS System Responsibilities**:

- Site Administrator of the POS system
- Ensure the POS is being utilized to its maximum potential
- Maintain and implement all upgrades to existing POS
- Maintain accurate inventory in POS

**Health and Safety**
- Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety responsibilities under Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including:
**Responsibilities**:

- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations
- Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn
- Report to his/her supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker
- Report to his/her supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he/she knows.

Participate in a culture of safety which encourages prevention, reduces errors and safeguards team RVH from harm.

**Supervision**: Supervise all Café Royale staff and volunteers

**Contacts**:Internal: All members of team RVH

**External**: Patients, visitors and vendor partners

**Physical**: Standing for long periods of time

**Demands**: Lifting, working with kitchen equipment

**Working **Conditions: Restaurant and hospital environment

**Hours of Work**:Days, evenings and weekends as necessary to meet demands of business

**Salary Band**:Per the appropriate salary administration of RVH Auxiliary

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$56,000.00 per year
