Edmonton Roof Truss is currently seeking individuals to work as Truss Builders in our busy Northwest Edmonton truss plant. Prior experience working in a truss plant is an asset, but not required. Truss Builders work in small teams (generally 3 to 4 workers per team) to lay out pre-cut material, attach mending plates and perform all other aspects of truss assembly using an automated press and roller system.

Duties of this position include:

- Reviewing order paperwork (written in English) and ensuring that all materials are of the correct grade, quality and dimensions for the job
- Configuring the press table as needed for each job
- Positioning all mending plates and truss components on the press table according to the shop drawing
- Securing joints with staples as needed
- Verifying that the first laid out truss for the job matches the shop drawings prior to pressing
- Using the press table to set mending plates
- Ejecting finished trusses onto the finishing rollers
- Performing assigned duties on the safety to-do list during down time
- Performing other duties as assigned by management

Required Abilities and Knowledge:

- Must have some familiarity with standard lumber dimensions and grading
- Must be attentive to detail and conscientious about producing a quality end product
- Must be able to stand continuously for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend / squat / crouch frequently
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Must be capable of properly reading a tape measure (feet, inches and fractions of an inch)
- Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing
- Must work well with others

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
