**Department Overview**:
This division is responsible for the year-round and seasonal catered events, restaurants, concessions, kitchens and group sales. It employs a variety of trades on a year-round basis, including chefs, cooks, dishwashers, servers, bakers, event planners and housekeepers/porters.

**Job Overview**:
The Wainwright Hotel Lead Hand supervises daily operations, guides staff, and ensures guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include inventory management, maintenance oversight, safety compliance, administrative tasks, and interdepartmental collaboration for efficient hotel functioning and exceptional guest experiences.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working with the Dining Services Manager and other members of the Food Services team, plans and implements standards and best practices to ensure exceptional customer service and to optimize facilities and resources
- Act as the primary supervisor of all servers oversees the servers, providing leadership and guidance to ensure efficient service delivery and exceptional guest experiences
- Provide thorough orientation and training to all staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles effectively
- Promote a positive work environment and enforces high standards of customer service
- Provide guidance and training to staff, ensuring they deliver high-quality service and adhere to hotel standards
- Serve as the primary liaison between back-of-house and front-of-house staff, facilitating collaboration and coordination to maintain smooth operations
- Oversee hotel operations, including housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services, ensuring smooth daily functioning
- Oversee the planning and execution of special events or functions hosted at the hotel
- Support marketing initiatives to promote the hotel's services and attract guests
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction
- Coordinate maintenance activities, conducting regular inspections to identify and address any issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations, implementing procedures to minimize risks
- Collaborate with other hotel departments and management to optimize overall hotel performance and guest experiences
- Engage with the local community and participating in outreach activities to enhance the hotel's reputation and relationships
- Provide an exceptional visitor experience through friendly and courteous interactions with guests, staff, and volunteers, using polite greetings, actively acknowledging guests, and handling situations positively
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary training in the hospitality area would be an asset
- Minimum of one year of previous experience in hotel operations or related hospitality roles
- Knowledge of hotel operations, hospitality standards, and relevant regulations
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and courteous demeanor
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interactions with guests, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to handle situations positively and provide valuable information
- Strong leadership abilities, including effective team management, adept decision-making, and proficient problem-solving skills

**Special Clothing and Equipment**:

- Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park if applicable; and
- Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.

**Special Working Conditions**:

- The position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors; and
