Reporting to the Manager, Simulation Centre, the Simulation Centre Operations Specialist (SCOS) will perform duties associated with the health and wellness simulation lab environments across multiple campus locations. You, in collaboration with the Manager, Simulation Centre will be responsible for all operations and coordination for the health and wellness portfolio to ensure effective and efficient simulation operations in order to determine the requirements needed in the program areas. Interprofessional Education (IPE) is a requirement for accreditation within multiple program areas within HWS; hence you will collaborate with multiple program areas to help develop opportunities for interprofessional education across the disciplines. In addition, you will assist in determining the allocation of supports and professional development needs within program areas. As Georgian continues to add new programs and grow enrolment you will assist in the preparation for simulated learning experiences across the health and wellness portfolio. The SCOS will oversee and coordinate all infrastructure, projects as assigned, technology, equipment, supplies, scheduling, and support for the simulation lab areas to meet accreditation requirements. You will support faculty and staff in the operation of the lab environment and oversight for WHIMIS, infection control procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOP) for all equipment in the labs in collaboration with the academic technologists across multiple program areas in health, wellness and sciences. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Scheduling, allocation of variable tasks to the technologists, coordination of all simulation activities, technological equipment, and laboratory space to support clinical teaching and clinical simulation programming
- Utilizing analytical, organizational, communication and project management skills to prioritize and triage the day-to-day operations in the simulation laboratories and high-fidelity suites to ensure proper delegation of equipment, space and resources
- Leading in the collecting the inventory of all equipment, consumables and input into an inventory system that will be utilized by all health and wellness staff at multiple locations
- Analysing daily operations to problem solve, support, facilitate and take immediate action on day-to-day operational needs and issues that arise, but are not only limited to the clinical laboratory space and suites
- Project coordination, purchasing in conjunction with the academic technologist, faculty, maintenance of equipment and simulators, technology and security systems in the Simulation labs at multiple campus locations. You will ensure communication with parties affected and follow through to completion on action items in a timely manner
- Providing front line assistance to faculty, academic technologists, simulation technologists, part-time support and students regarding all technological equipment, facilities, medical equipment, AV equipment and resources in the simulated learning spaces
- Collaborating with the Manager, you will coordinate and/or participate in events, projects or activities involving students, faculty and industry partners. Clear and efficient communication and decision making is essential to ensure cooperation, fulfillment and excellence. You will be proactive in providing services in support of program learning outcomes in accordance of industry needs and accreditation standards
- Performing analysis, research, create/provide action plans to share and communicate with the Manager, Simulation Centre for the yearly simulation budget across campus locations
- Reviewing, researching and collaborating with coordinators and distributors regarding instructional supplies, lab kits and uniforms for students within the Health and Wellness program areas

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Successfully completed a 2 Year Diploma / Degree or equivalent post-secondary in Engineering, technology, health sciences, or a related field
- A minimum of five years’ experience in Direct, related practical experience with clinical simulation and problem solving/running of simulators
- Experience in a healthcare field related to patient care in acute, long term, rehab, palliative and community care, preferred
- Skilled with vendor specific tools, procedures and operations including:

- Clinical Simulation Certification
- Simulation technology repair
- Experience in ensuring safe environment and operations and ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations
