**Project Coordinator**:
**Primary Purpose**: The Project Coordinator is expected to be a visionary leader who represents Pewaseskwan - the Indigenous Wellness Research Group_ _to the public and its stakeholders. Reporting to the Principal Investigators, the Project Coordinator will lead the management and coordination of research activities related to the project(s) using Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Doing.

**Nature of Work**: As a valued member of Pewaseskwan_ _at the University of Saskatchewan, the Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders and coordinate the entire study from planning, survey development, pilot testing, survey distribution, data collection and analysis to knowledge translation activities and manuscript writing.

The Coordinator will embrace the concepts of community engagement, consultation, partnership and self-determination. This position requires a high level of independence, interpersonal skills and knowledge of Indigenous philosophies and methodologies.

**Accountabilities**:

- Contributes to engagement on behalf of Pewaseskwan with Elders, Knowledge Holders, Indigenous and non-Indigenous faculty and scholars, teachers, staff, students, and First Nations and Métis communities and organizations.
- Applies knowledge of, and experience with, Indigenization, reconciliation and decolonization to research, working with partners and Pewaseskwan initiatives.
- Ensures that the Indigenous engagement and research undertaken by Pewaseskwan demonstrably meets its objectives.
- Research innovative practices in Indigenous research engagement and partnership nationally and internationally, sharing new strategies and approaches with Pewaseskwan and at the local level.
- Oversee comprehensive review(s) of relevant literature and other sources and produce literature summaries as required for other team members relevant to specific topics.
- Present findings at local, national and international meetings where relevant.
- Lead manuscript writing and contribute to manuscripts of relevance to Pewaseskwan
- Prepare communication materials for community members and other stakeholders as the project unfolds.
- Provide seamless project management support for the Principal Investigators, including communicating with team members and stakeholders and organizing meetings.
- Supervise, support and coordinate the activities of research personnel.
- Develop, prepare and present annual or official reports to funding agencies, key external stakeholders and university leadership/administration.
- Ensure a high quality of studies as per regulations stipulated by the Tri-Council and other granting agencies, Research Ethics Boards and other oversight and regulatory bodies, and uplift Indigenous research philosophies and methodologies, including data sovereignty.
- Participate in relevant committees at the organizational, regional and national levels.

**Qualifications**
**Education**: A level of education equivalent to a Master’s degree in a related health or business discipline from a recognized program.

**Experience**: A minimum of five years of directly related experience in research administration. Knowledge of University of Saskatchewan policies and procedures, including the UniFi System (or equivalent) will be considered an asset. Demonstrated leadership experience in the research environment and among Indigenous peoples is also considered a strong asset for this position. Specifically, project management, including successful collaborations with community and university stakeholders, authorship of academic publications, proposals and/or reports, and supervising staff.

- Proven leadership skills.

This position requires technical and policy knowledge, an ability to deal with competing priorities and deadlines, and personal initiative and judgment. It will suit an individual who is creative, innovative, versatile, and committed to upholding standards of equity, transparency, consistency and accuracy in forging a vital Indigenous presence in this space.
