JUNIOR ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN

Do you want to work for a company that’s making a difference? Bionic Power Inc. is a Vancouver-based company developing lightweight, high-mobility exoskeleton technology for the medical market. The Agilik is our first product: a pediatric gait rehabilitation device designed to improve crouch gait, a condition often associated with cerebral palsy (CP), spina bifida and other knee extension deficiency disorders.

Assistive exoskeleton technology has shown great promise for gait rehabilitation. Currently, almost 50% of children with CP will lose the ability to walk in adulthood - we aim to change this and improve the lives of a marginalized community. Bionic Power has repurposed its military exoskeleton technology for the medical market. Sales in North America and Europe have begun, and we are ramping up production.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a hands-on, in-person position with a focus on assembly, production, and testing of mechatronic medical devices.
- Assembly, repair, and maintenance of existing and new products
- Provide technical support to the engineering and R&D team
- Wire harness and mechanical assembly
- SMD and through-hole PCB assembly
- Maintain documentation for manufacturing orders, quality control checks
- Maintain inventory control of electronic components and tools

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of a two (2) year diploma or certification as a technologist
- One year of experience in mechanical and electrical assembly is preferred
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English

TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Must have experience with assembly, troubleshooting and repair of analog and digital instrumentation
- Must have experience with PCB (Print Circuit Boards) assembly
- Must have good soldering skills
- Experience with mechanical assembly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, etc.
- Would help to be familiar with schematic and PCB design software
- Familiarity with programming and coding would be useful
- Some experience with CAD programs such as SolidWorks would be helpful

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Salary range $37,500-$42,500
- Benefits package including extended health benefits, a Health Savings Account, and long-term disability coverage
