The Role**:Electrical General Labourer / Junior Electrical Apprentice**

Location: Oakville

Position Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30AM - 3:00PM, with occasional overtime

**Primary Responsibilities**:
The position will involve the following tasks:

- Assist with the fabrication of Electrical Panels and Junction boxes as required;
- Install cable tray, Junction boxes, panels, lights, switches, electrical components, cables, wire basket or mechanical protection methods for cables as and where required;
- Install cables, AC and DC into cable tray systems and cabinets/junction boxes as designed;
- Ground Tray Systems; connect both AC and DC instruments and electrical equipment as per supplied wiring diagrams and drawings;
- Install connectors, sealing fittings, lights, switches ,heaters, heat trace, power kits, end terminations and any other electrical components required to complete a safe and working electrically designed system;
- Assist in continuity and insulation verification tests when required.

**Required Skills**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification;
- Have knowledge of the Canadian and UL Electrical Code;
- Read Blueprints, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Electrical Wiring drawings and Manufacturer Drawings;
- Experience with the use of the following shop equipment: drill press, magnetic base drill, hand drills, belt sanders, skill saw, abrasive cut off saw, hand held band saw, sawzall, cold saw, horizontal, vertical band saw, Jig saw, hydraulic punch sets, crimping tool, electrical hand tools suitable for the work required;
- Must be able to work from a ladder and be comfortable working at heights;
- Work using good housekeeping practices;
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.

**Preferred Skills/Certifications**:

- Any of the following would be an asset:

- Electrical Apprentice Certificate/Diploma from an accredited College;
- Experience reading and working from a P&ID drawing;
- Experience reading and working with ISO metric drawings;
- Experience working from Electrical schematics;
- Working at Heights Certificate;
- Tow Motor Certificate;
- Scissor Lift Certificate;
- Genie or JLG Certificate;
- Overhead Crane Certification.
