Program Coordinator: Recreating The Village

**Position Summary**:
The Recreating the Village Coordinator provides Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) Training to parents whose children are in-care or at risk of being in-care with a focus to Indigenous families. COSP teaches how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. It is an approach focusing on early intervention models to increase attachment and security between a parent and their child. Follow up includes regular gatherings with a range of support staff and an annual immersive camp to reinforce for the COSP methods.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Building community and parenting capacity amongst Indigenous families whose children received services or support through Aboriginal Infant Development Program (0-3 years old), a child and youth mental health therapist (0-5 years old) or support from the Ministry of Child and Family Development.
- Provide an 8-week Circle of Security modular training parenting program (COSP).
- Organize culturally safe gatherings and an annual 3-day immersive camp for the families who have graduated from COSP.
- Provide opportunities for parents and children to enhance and increase parenting skills using COSP methods.
- Provide ongoing gatherings (up to ten in a year).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be discreet and manage confidential information appropriately.
- Open to learning a Trauma Informed Approach.
- Staying up to date with services, policies and training.
- Proficient in record-keeping, organization, and budget management.
- Familiarity with MCFD programs and processes.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 21 - 28 per week
