Local organic berry and vegetable farm Berry Best Farm is seeking a farmhand/farmstand employee for the Summer

Depending on applicants, we are open to hiring individuals to work both in the farmstand and in the field or finding staff to work specifically in each role.

**Field work tasks**: harvesting berries and vegetables, weeding, seeding, watering, and other general field tasks.

**Farm stand tasks**: greeting customers, answering phone calls, processing sales, operating debit/credit machine & Square sales system on iPad, communicating with customers in a friendly manner, light cleaning, stocking fruits/vegetable displays.

Ideally, we would like to find someone full time, approx. 30 hours/week. However, we are also open to hiring a couple different part time staff if it feels like the right fit. Part time hours would most likely be 2-3 days a week, with reoccurring set days in place each week. We would like to hire someone soon for the farm season which slows down around early September (although termination date is flexible). Perks of working here are getting to do a variety of tasks, working with people but also having quiet time working with plants, and working in a healthy and peaceful environment. Additionally, employees receive a 20% discount on produce and other local items sold in our farm stand.

We are located about 11 minutes north of Courtenay near Seal Bay Park. Applicants will most likely need a vehicle to get here or live in the area. Also, sadly if you are allergic to bees this may not be a good position for you as there are many flowering plants around here.
