Support Staff Full-time New Position

**Responsibilities**:

- With direction from the Associate Registrar, Systems & Technology, has primary responsibility to document and analyze all RO functional processes and find opportunities to improve processes through technology
- Analyze and evaluate Conestoga’s business processes related to the Student Information System (SIS) and related systems, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and optimization
- Translate conceptual business requirements into functional requirements
- Lead development of business requirements for all technical solutions.
- Perform in-depth business and systems analysis activities, capturing business processes and rules, system inputs/outputs
- Ensure system quality and compliance with information security and accessibility standards
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices for configuration/development
- Plan, develop, execute, and review test plans and test approaches to validate ‎against business requirements
- Research, recommend and implement improvements to current ‎procedures
- Identify solutions to a variety of complex business and system issues, which entail software, hardware, data structures, business rules, etc.
- Plan and design integration between various components/systems
- Design and develop product testing/quality processes, ensure a team review of defects in assessing product quality, and facilitate post-implementation reviews to ensure solutions are meeting business needs and objectives
- Maintain constant awareness of the project plan and non-project tasks, ensuring they can plan and prioritize items to adhere to schedules and deadlines
- Work collaboratively with RO leadership team, Information Technology Systems (ITS), and project team members as assigned to improve systems and processes through continuous improvement of technology solutions
- Conduct interviews and product analysis to gather quality user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, observation, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios and other methods
- Organize and lead the requirements review sessions internally and with client
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers, project teams, and end users
- Maintain a current understanding of system and technology priorities within the RO and industry approaches to student information management

**Qualifications**:

- Three-year Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or related field of education is required
- Minimum of five years working in a technology environment on process analysis, business process mapping, software development, or as a system specialist working with agile project management/delivery methodology is required
- Experience within the post-secondary education sector is an asset
- Demonstrated planning, organizational and project management skills
- Experience coordinating multiple projects of various sizes, complexity, and scope
- Excellent knowledge of system integration and mobility technologies and methodologies
- Hands-on, organized, team player including coaching and mentoring, quick learner, and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Excellent understanding of SaaS solutions and associated security implications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and consultative skills to work effectively with a wide variety of clients/stakeholders, management, and technical staff
- Experience with component-based architecture
- Practical approach to quality assurance
- Solid experience with standardized modelling techniques and creating functional specification
