Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help all young Canadians develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market by creating quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years.

Bringing care and community together since 1986. Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre connects children, youth, parents, adults and seniors with services and resources in Ottawa west. Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Adult Day Program (ADP) Team Manager, the Adult Day Program Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the team in the delivery of core community services activities and programs.

Principal

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with planning of Adult Programs activities and programming;
- Assist in promoting a positive and welcoming environment for clients and family members;
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the program;
- Assist in setting up and maintaining a safe and secure environment for the clients;
- Provide program and administrative assistance to the Adult Day Program team;
- Attend team meetings and educational activities as required.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- **Must be between the ages of 15 to 30 and legally entitled to work in Canada;**:

- Social Services Worker or Gerontology program and/or equivalent related experience;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills;
- Excellent computer and administrative skills;
- Knowledge of Seniors programs and services;
- Experience working with seniors and/or their caregiver;
- Experience with and sensitivity to diverse community groups;
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, spoken and written; French and/or other languages are an asset;
- Available to work flexible hours.
