Student Optician

Responsibilities:

- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features
- Provide recommendations on lens options, frames, and lens coatings based on customers' needs and preferences
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process orders and ensure timely delivery of eyewear
- Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and other optical supplies
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working as an optician or in a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of optical principles, lens materials, and frame styles
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures for cutting and edging lenses
- Strong retail sales skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service
- Experience in sales or retail management is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Epic) and medical terminology is an advantage

As an optician, you will play a crucial role in helping customers find the perfect eyewear to meet their vision needs. You will use your expertise in optical principles and retail sales to provide personalized recommendations and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, your attention to detail and knowledge of laboratory procedures will contribute to the accurate fabrication of eyewear.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $20.00-$37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
