Works under the direction of the public health team to support public health communicable disease prevention and
control through outreach and community engagement, data collection and entry, referrals, distributing harm reduction
supplies, communication, and various administrative responsibilities.

Strengthens the connections and relationships between individuals and with organizations that will result in an
increased capacity within communities to work towards common goals through community engagement. Focusses on
intersectoral collaboration, locality development and organizational development.

Promotes effective and efficient organizational operation and data collection. Completes relevant functions and is
accountable to the organization, the team and their clients to provide service in the most effective and efficient manner.

Maintains professional competence, quality of work and utilizes knowledge that is evidence-based and current.

Schedule will include evenings and weekends as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 education or equivalent (combinations of education and experience may be considered)
- Recognized post-secondary certificate or diploma in a health services or social sciences field
- Post-secondary education, including degree specific to population and public health an asset
- Valid Class V driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the region year round
- Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
- Satisfactory employment record required
