**Role Summary**
Reporting to the Hydrovac Superintendent, the Hydrovac Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vacuum trucks. Based out of our construction sites in Charlottetown and surrounding area, this role will perform sewer cleaning and hydro excavation.

**What You’ll Do**
- Drive and operate Hydro-Vac vacuum trucks.
- Read and interpret plans, diagrams and perform required work.
- Complete hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, trenching, and digging, using a high-pressure wand to loosen the soil and a vacuum system to remove debris or build-up.
- Maintain accurate reports including job site reports and driver inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively, professionally and demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all interactions.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and as the need arises perform minor repairs to equipment.
- Complete vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily.
- Job site safety evaluations and preventative measures.
- General clean-up and maintenance of units.
- Adhere and support all safety requirements and quality standards set forth in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act and Island Coastal’s Safety Management System.
- Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies and support Management in implementing solutions OR report to Management when required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

**What You Bring**
- Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related experience preferred.
- Must have a minimum Class 3 license and an acceptable driving record.
- Experience in a labor-intensive position and working outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently in a team and safety focused environment with mínimal supervision.
- Mechanical inclination considered an asset.
- Positive goal-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 60 per week
