**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Campus Director, the Massage Therapy program instructor is responsible for course delivery and student evaluation as set out in the Massage Therapy curriculum. This responsibility includes planning lessons and organizing instructional resources to facilitate the achievement of the course learning outcomes. The Massage Therapy program instructor is responsible for the assessment of these learning outcomes. The incumbent assists in duties that support the operation of the program and contributes positively to the program by demonstrating commitment, cooperation, flexibility, and professional and appropriate behavior.

**Education and Qualifications**
- be a Registered Massage Therapist;
- be in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO);
- hold a current membership with the provincial massage therapy association (RMTAO);
- hold or be willing to obtain first aid and CPR Level HCP
- have familiarity with Private Career Colleges and the Private Career Colleges Act (asset);
- be familiar with the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (asset);
- succeed with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, Google Mail, Docs and Calendar, Skype, Adobe, and Moodle;
- conduct themselves professionally at all times;
- be able to communicate effectively with internal staff.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure students are being taught in accordance with approved curriculum
- Participate in the student appeal process when required
- Submit monthly reports to the program coordinator
- Teach students using a systematic plan that consists of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, interactive activities, independent and group projects
- Use instruction techniques/methods that recognize and take into account needs and learning capacities of students, and modify when needed in response to students of needs
- Maintain fair, firm and consistent discipline with the students
- Regularly monitor student progress and adjust courses accordingly
