**ABOUT IHE OPERATOR SCHOOL**

Our HEO Instructors work in an industrial learning site environment where they instruct HEO operations and theory, directly creating a critical career experience to develop potential students and prepare them for an HEO career. Delivering high-quality instruction and ensuring successful student learning are key components for this role.

Interior Heavy Equipment Operator School proudly operates heavy equipment training sites throughout western Canada. What sets IHE apart is students never share equipment and train on full-size machines only - NO Simulators. The company prides itself on delivering high-caliber real-world machine training so graduates leave with the skills and confidence needed to get a job in an exciting career. **POSITION SCOPE**:This role is vital in ensuring all operations and activities occurring on-site meet the highest quality of training, safety, and maintain our commitment to set professional standards.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To ensure the highest degree of customer service and quality instruction to our student/clients
- Creative, effective, and proven instruction techniques and communication to meet the needs of our diverse student body, whether instructing and supervising students in the field or classroom settings.
- Ensure the highest set of safety standards are met in accordance with provincial laws.
- Always represent the Company while on site.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Students and Peers.
- Coordinate site opening or closing if designated by Site Superintendent.
- Prepare and lead daily toolbox meetings in rotation with other instructors that meet quality standards.
- Report any site visits by company executives, recruiting agencies, funder agencies, etc., to Site Superintendent.
- Ensure site and student policies are adhered to.
- To report any environmental or safety incidents immediately to Site Superintendent.
- Aid in making sure the site maintains an acceptable level of cleanliness.
- Daily and weekly marking of student books, student evaluations.
- Always maintain visibility of student(s).

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- Leadership or training experience and skills.
- Passion for instructing/ mentoring in an industrial environment.
- 10 years of diverse HEO experience on multiple machines and multiple sectors i.e., construction, oil and gas, civil etc.
- Appropriate certifications/safety tickets prior to start - First Aid LVL1, Ground Disturbance LVL2.
- Superior knowledge of industry and safety practices.
- Good computer skills to manage daily communications.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Professionalism required in this College setting.
- GPS experience an asset.
