**Project Manager I - Research Support Services**

In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, the Project Manager I leads and co-ordinates all aspects of the current projects and initiatives undertaken by the Research Institute related to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. The Project Manager I ensures that the deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as identified in the project plan. The Project Manager I identifies and tracks metrics as they relate to the project deliverables, and provides consultation, guidance and support to designated project staff, contractors and stakeholders. The Project Manager I will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to BCCHR to connect, build, and support resources, programs, and initiatives aimed at easing access, ensuring safety, and engagement of diverse trainees, staff, and faculty based at BCCHR. The Project Manger I will bring with them an understanding of EDI and Indigenous issues in a research and health care setting. Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports is critical.

This individual would play a role in developing, managing, and supporting EDI and Indigenous initiatives involving the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute (BCCHR), its members, and partners who are engaged in and support research activities that benefit the lives of children and families with children.

**What you’ll do**
- Implements the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) priority actions and stablishes detailed project charter, plans and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables. Executes project plan according to project methodologies, ensures successful and coordinated completion of project components, consults with stakeholders, relevant committees, and the BCCHR community as needed and ensures readiness for project implementation.
- Participates in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints and uses best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
- Provides leadership by giving advice or guidance in situations that require interpretation and judgment. Works collaboratively with the communications department where possible on a variety of content and materials for internal and external publications on EDI matters.

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline with a minimum of five (5) year’s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups. Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.

- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
- Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
