Seasonal Groundsperson

**SUMMARY**:
The position requires to perform work while following all health and safety guidelines and to ensure a high-quality standard of performance. Ensures that all cemetery visitors are treated courteously and fairly.

**WORK PERFORMED**:

- Groom lawn using ride-on mowers
- Basic mower maintenance
- Trim around flat granite markers and upright monuments, blow any clippings off memorials using a blower, trimming around shrub/flower beds, trees, benches, structures as needed
- Operate tractors to: pull trailers to water sod, shrub/flower beds, dump trailers, use of fertilizer spreaders.
- Weed shrub/flower beds, remove litter where necessary
- Assemble, properly locate and install flush granite memorial markers, assist with tombstone installations.
- Lot maintenance such as leveling sunken areas, leveling flush markers, flowerbed maintenance.
- Clean and help maintain cemetery buildings, sweeping, dusting, general house-keeping.
- May be required to assist other team members as necessary.
- Performs other duties as required.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Valid driver’s license
- Team building and team work is essential.
- Must be able to work in the outdoor environment
- Ability to work independent as well as in a team
- Must be able to perform work at a consistent level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to complete on-site training

**ASSETS**:

- Previous horticultural and agricultural experience.
- Mechanical experience
- Good team player.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

**Salary**: $17.50-$20.50 per hour
