**Position**: Advisor, Employee and Labour Relations (Can be based out of Mississauga or Calgary) - 30% Travel in Alberta, Sask, Manitoba and Ontario

**Job Purpose**:
Support the Employee Relations and Labour Relations, Manager in day-to-day ER/LR activities. The ER/LR Advisor provides guidance to Store Management and is first point of contact for store hourly employees relating to ER/LR matters.

**What you will be doing**:

- Provides advice, counseling and support to division on Employee Relations policies, procedures and programs relating to employment legislation, and the understanding of the collective agreements where applicable.
- Provides recommendations and handles cases involving performance management, corrective actions, terminations, and accommodations.
- Conducts investigations relative to complaints and disciplines; assist with conflict management, and dispute resolution or other employee relations matter.
- Collaborate with all parties to develop a positive working relationship based upon mutual respect, trust and confidence and interact with key partners to resolve employment issues.
- First point of contact for front line employees regarding employee relations inquiries.
- Support benefits administration in issues related to disability management and facilitate return to work protocol and workplace accommodation situations as required.
- Gatekeeper of all grievances and LR concerns for zone; Maintains effective day-to-day labour relations with the unions.
- Responsible for providing timely and accurate advice, guidance and further develop positive labour-management relations.

**How you will succeed**:

- 2 to 3 years post-secondary college education preferably in Human Resources and/or Labour Relations and obtained (or working towards) HR Management Certification.
- Thorough understanding of employment laws including the Employment Standards Act and the Ontario Labour Code and sound knowledge of the collective agreements, company policies and programs.
- Able to work independently with mínimal direction while demonstrating the ability to exercise mature judgment, prioritization and organizational skills.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Human Resources/Labour Relations Coordinator; experience in employee relations in areas such as; performance management, progressive discipline, conflict management, recruitment, disability management, etc.
- Strong digital literacy - proficiency with various word processing, spreadsheets, database, Microsoft office.
- Excellent dispute resolution and negotiation skills. Good interpersonal skills, supportive and grounded.
- Work in a fast-paced work environment that encourages collaboration & adopts change..
