**INTERMEDIATE STRUCTURAL CONSTRUCTION REVIEWER/ CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR**

WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Contract Administrator to join our structural team for the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project. You will be working primarily from a site office on Parliament Hill and will report directly to the project’s Lead structural Contract Administrator.

**PROJECT DESCRIPTION**

Centre Block is our most iconic heritage building and a symbol of Canadian democracy. The building contains the House of Commons and Senate Chambers, as well as offices for MPs, senators and senior administrators.

The Centre Block Rehabilitation Project is a long-term renovation, rehabilitation and rejuvenation project of national interest within the Parliamentary Precinct. WSP (in joint venture) is providing a range of multidisciplinary consultancy services, including structural design and contract administration. WSP's scope extends well beyond a rehabilitation of Centre Block (CB) and the Peace Tower (PT) to include a large multi-level, below grade Visitor Welcome Centre (VWC) located immediately to the south of CB, and 30 related enabling work projects.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

The role entails undertaking and managing CA for the structural discipline as per Professional Engineers Ontario’s (PEO’s) _Guideline for Professional Engineers Providing General Review of Construction _. Specific responsibilities include:

- Reviewing ongoing construction of the structure to monitor compliance with contract documents, identifying deficiencies and resolutions and documenting all in Field Observation Reports (FORs);
- Keeping the Senior Contract Administrator fully informed of developments and progress on site;
- Ensuring assigned submittals are reviewed and returned;
- Monitoring the work of independent testing and inspection agencies;
- Responding to RFIs;
- Participating in preparing Site Instructions and Construction Bulletins;
- Contributing to the preparation of Record Drawings;
- Participating in preparing monthly payment certificates and progress reports;
- Reviewing claims for structural scope of work;
- Participating in constructability reviews;
- Liaising with project stakeholders, including the Client (PSPC), the CM, architects and engineers, on an ongoing basis;
- Identifying potential risks and bringing them to the attention of the Senior Contract Administrator;
- Adhering to WSP’s and the Project’s safety policies/protocols, as well as legislative requirements; Other duties as assigned/required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in civil engineering; specialization in structural engineering;
- Registration as a Professional Engineer is an asset;
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a structural CA ;
- Experience on large buildings projects, heritage projects, and fast-tracked projects is desirable asset
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and CSA Standards for concrete, steel, masonry;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; French language skills are desirable;
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Bluebeam; Revit skills are an asset;
- Good attention to detail and accuracy of work;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with mínimal direct oversight.
