**Job Summary**: This position is responsible for the smooth and safe operation of the bakery department of The Apple Place, focusing on consistent quality and supply of baked goods, and providing a positive customer experience that exceeds expectations.

**Role and Accountability**:
- Bake daily supply of products (pies, muffins, mini loaves, cider donuts) adhering to customer demand and food safety requirements.
- Assist customers and fulfill orders in person and over the phone.
- Keep the bakery and surrounding store areas clean and tidy.
- Package and label products safely and accurately.
- Brew coffee and keep a fresh supply throughout the day.
- Ensure all products are ready and on display by 9 am and maintain stock levels until 5 pm. Being strategic to minimize food waste.
- Prepare additional capacity for large orders or special events.
- Stock bakery supplies for the next day, including preparing donut mix.
- Receive supply orders, confirm shipments, and put stock away promptly.
- Support the front end of the retail store, assist customers, and work the cash register as needed.
- Collaborate with other Bakers and Customer Service Associates as part of the Apple Place team.
- Develop and test new recipes in collaboration with the Retail Manager, highlighting local, in-season ingredients whenever possible.
- Report problems, concerns, and ideas to the Retail Manager with solutions.
- Assist with year-end inventory counts.
- Order bakery supplies and communicate with sales representatives.
- Follow all Good Food Handling Practices.
- Complete accurate financial transactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education and Experience**:
- Food Safety Handling Certificate, or the ability to obtain one, required.
- Customer service and/or bakery experience preferred.
- Experience with cash handling and using a point of sale system is an asset.
- Previous experience in a retail or food service environment is beneficial.
Salary $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.
