Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time permanent Disability Management / RTW (Return to Work) / Safety Coordinator at our manufacturing hub in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Primary Responsibilities

Coordinate and facilitate the return to work of injured or ill employees.

Perform all administrative aspects of claims processing and return to work.

Coordinate all external medical specialists, consultants, or therapists regarding in-house assessments, job demand analysis or work area reviews in support of disability case management.

Develop and make recommendations for improvements to the company’s disability management and return to work policies.

Arrange data into spreadsheets and payroll system.

Perform all administrative aspects of claims processing and return to work (WI, WCB, M.P.I., Salary Continuance, and LTD). Work with third party on WCB Claims.

Assist in investigating injuries, tracking, maintaining, and reporting incidents and near-miss data to identify and analyze trends. Document investigation on company systems.

Create safety talks, maintenance of SDS data base, and assist in management of the

Develop and make recommendations for improvements to Magellan's Disability Management and RTW policies; Develop and recommend information and communications initiatives to improve overall awareness of Magellan's Disability Management.

Create and Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP)

Develop and recommend information and communications initiatives for continuous safety program and maintenance of safety certification.

Update safety policies, procedures, and maintaining the JHA/SWP database. Provide technical and program support to Safety Management Initiatives.

Create and deliver safety training, safety presentations, and presenting and updating Health & Safety Orientations for new hires.

Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

2-4 years experience with disability claim management and RTW. Knowledge of WCB system/legislation. Experience working within a unionized environment is required.

2-4 years experience in occupational health and safety is required.

College or University Diploma or Certification in Occupational Safety and Health is required.

Academic Certification in Disability Management or Return to Work Coordinator Program and/or experience is required.

Good working knowledge of and experience with standard office equipment and software (i.e. Microsoft Office, etc).

Understanding of short term / long-term disability insurance and group life insurance.

Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills.
