**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums all floors.
- Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
- Cleans snow and spreads gravel as required on pathways during winter.
- Gathers and empties trash.
- Water and maintain indoor and outdoor plants
- Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
- Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
- Manages inventory of cleaning supplies so that they don’t run out.
- Keeps building and property in clean and orderly manner.
- Performs basic routine maintenance activities.
- Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additional services required.
- Stocks the snack Drink dispenser and maintains supplies
- Waters Indoor and outdoor plants as needed
- Other suitable duties as assigned

**Custodian Qualifications / Skills**:

- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
- Ability to do strenuous work as stated above
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for extended time.
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals. (WHMIS is an asset)
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
- Communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Basic English and Math skills or high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a Canadian company/organization.
