**Position: Education Assistant (farm-based grow and cook classes)**
**Wage: $19/hour plus 4% vacation pay**
**35 hours/week for 8 weeks (June 24 - Aug 23)**
6 hours per day, Monday-Friday weekly - Facilitation schedule may change from time to time as needed. This position REQUIRES a Class 5 drivers license. Access to a personal vehicle is an asset.

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking an outdoor-motivated, energetic farm worker and facilitator to join Foodshare's Education team. Education Assistants help maintain our educational farm and lead activities that practice food growing and cooking skills, mainly with kids. If you love to be outside, enjoy problem solving and repairs, have interest to learn facilitation and food skills and work with a variety of community members we want you to apply This position requires strong teamwork and communication skills as well as First Aid certification and a drivers license with access to a vehicle. Food Safe, carpentry, landscaping, growing and cooking experience are all assets.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure the safe use of all tools and farm site accessibility
- Assist in solution-oriented completion of farm projects and activities
- Obtain Foodsafe certification and maintain standards at all times
- Maintain and improve farm and educational infrastructure
- Assist Education Facilitators with classes and build leadership capacity
- Drive and deliver supplies as needed
- Maintain positive and service-oriented relationships with all farm visitors
- Assist other programs as needed

**Experience and interest**
- Physical labour, landscaping, outdoor weather
- Keen about growing and/or cooking skill development
- Interest to engage with school aged children and community
- Team-oriented and motivated
- Strong communication skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
