We are looking for a creative and energetic individual with exceptional customer service and leadership skills, who has knowledge of, and experience working with playschool children. This temporary position will work 2 afternoons per week in La Glace on Mondays and Wednesdays until June 2024. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing opportunities for children ages 3 - 4 years to engage in play centered activities
- Facilitating social interaction opportunities for the children
- Role-modelling healthy interactions using evidence-based practices
- Providing information and resources to caregivers
- Planning playschool social/recreational activities that enhance children's developmental skills
- Maintaining a clean and safe work/play environment
- Implementing safety standards in children's activities and child monitoring
- Leading/assisting in emergency situations
- Organizing field trips for children
- Meeting/discussing children's progress with parents/guardians
- Providing quality customer service to external clients and internal staff.
- An Early Childhood Diploma; Level 3 ECE - Level 2 Minimum
- Valid class 5 license with an acceptable driver's abstract
- Reliable vehicle to be used for work purposes (team meetings, etc.)
- Experience working with groups of children
- Experience working with parent/caregivers
- CPR/First Aid with AED Certificate
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to use tact, diplomacy, and mature judgment
- The ability to provide safe and effective child development activities while monitoring/supervising
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Satisfactory Criminal Records and Child Welfare background checks.
This position starts end of early September 2023 and runs until June 2024.
