**ABOUT US**:
The Center of Dreams and Hopes has successfully upheld its mission of enriching the lives of individuals and families of those with special needs. This organization offers several therapeutic and recreational programs alongside its popular respite program. Due to high demand along with the need for such a service in our community, we embarked on a journey to extend additional opportunities to families in need with the support provided by our partners at the CRDI. We are seeking dedicated and responsible respite care workers to provide quality care for clients with physical, emotional, and/or cognitive disabilities.

**POSITION**:Facilitator

**RATE OF PAY**:19.00$/hr

**HOURS AND DAYS OF WORK (Shifts)**:
**Saturday**:
8:00am
- 4:30pm

**Sunday**:
8:00am-4:30pm

**PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Facilitators are responsible to provide the below tasks for there two clients:

- Organizing, implementing, and supervising various activities according to client interests and needs.
- Providing personal care that may be required like feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, lifting, transferring.
- Assessing and addressing client’s physical/and or emotional needs
- Implementing intervention plans according to client needs
- Administer prescribed medications to clients.
- Documenting i.e., daily communication logs, incident reports, client inventory, medication logs.
- Day-to-day upkeep of facility (maintaining cleanliness and organization during work time).

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A degree/certification and/or studying in a program of a related field (i.e., Special Care Counselling, Psychology, Education, etc.
- Experience working with individuals that have developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with children/youth with challenging behaviours.
- Strong initiative skills, and ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Have strong re-direction and de-escalation skills.
- Use best practices in crisis intervention situations.
- Ability to work flexible hours. Including evenings and/or overnights on Fridays or Saturdays.
- Valid first-aid certification is an asset.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed
