**Sewer & Water Operator-in-Training/Utility Tractor Operator**

Applications are invited for the combined (6/6) position of Sewer & Water Operator-in-Training and Utility Tractor Operator within the City of North Bay’s Public Works Division. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Water & Wastewater during summer construction season, performs routine repairs, maintenance and installations to municipal water distribution, wastewater collection and storm sewer systems.

Under the direction of the Roads Supervisor during winter control season, operates utility tractor with various attachments to perform seasonal duties such as sweeping roads and sidewalks, plowing and sanding sidewalks, pushing snow for removal. Completes minor tractor and equipment maintenance. Performs various labourer duties.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 12 Education or equivalent.
- Must possess and post Ministry of Environment (MOE) Water Distribution Operator-in-Training Certificate and a Wastewater Collection Operator-in-Training Certificate.
- Must have good work habits and be able to carry out routine operations with minimum supervision.
- Must hold a valid Ontario Class “D” Driver’s License with a “Z” endorsement.
- Have good knowledge of Safety Regulations and Procedures.
- Six (6) months experience in the operation of a utility tractor.
- Demonstrated ability in the operation of a Skidsteer and Trackless.
- Must be able to take instructions and carry them out without supervision.
- Required to participate in On-Call Duty System and be available for emergency work after hours.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

**Hours of Work**:0730hrs to 1600hrs - Monday to Friday

Rotational Department Shifts - 6 months winter, 6 months summer

**Duration**: Permanent Full-Time

**Environment**: Unionized

**Hourly Rate**:$28.39 per hour
