**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
***PRODUCTION**
- **Deliver on daily production requirements.**:

- **Plan, organize and control the efficient operation of the production department to achieve objectives. Make approved necessary adjustments maximizing efficiencies and production levels. Problem solve and escalate production issues to ensure objectives are met.**:

- **Ensure that work performed adheres to Forterra’s Quality Standards are adhered to and achieved.**:

- **Constantly evaluate production equipment performance and make recommendations for changes as required.**:

- **Monitor raw material and report requirements on a monthly basis (rebar, pipe wire, manhole wire etc.).**:

- **Inputs production and reports usage.**

***HEALTH & SAFETY**
- **Promote and ensure employees and work performed is done in a safe and healthy work environment.**:

- **Monitor safety procedures.**:

- **Ensure that a safe work environment exists and the Company’s safety and environmental objectives are achieved.**:

- **Ensure all Occupational Health and Safety regulations are respected and seek out ways to improve safety.**:

- **Perform weekly safety talks with employees.**:

- **Ensure adequate housekeeping and safety practices are promptly and correctly implemented and maintained in the department.**:

- **Works closely with the Health & Safety Advisor to ensure identified items are completed.**

***EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE**
- **Manage employee performance**:

- **Supervise and develop production workers**:

- **Ensure that all production employees on the team are trained according to appropriate standards and work with direct reports to problem solve issues**

***EMPLOYEE ADMINISTRATION**
- **Maintain regular communication with employees to keep them informed about department and Company developments.**:

- **Ensure that all employee administrative tasks are handled promptly, professionally, ensuring that the employee experience is a positive one.**:

- **Payroll - Update Kronos with employee work hours/scheduling.**:

- **Manage employee absences and vacation.**:

- **Taking disciplinary action against employee who are in safety violation**:

- **Ensure that Collective Bargaining Agreement is respected**

***MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- **Community College Diploma in Technology or equivalent work experience**:

- **Minimum of 5 years production experience in operations and quality control in a plant setting**:

- **Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products and Kronos**:

- **Advanced problem solving skills**:

- **Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.**:

- **Ability to obtain cooperation and influence others to work toward a common goal**:

- **Proven people management experience with demonstrated results in coaching, mentoring and developing others**:

- **Open to learning, and developing their career**
