Job Description:
The Mental Health Planner will coordinate mental health promotion and intervention services on behalf of Youth Net/Réseau Ado (YN/RA). YN/RA is a bilingual for-youth-by-youth mental health promotion program of the Mental Health Patient Service Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). YN/RA offers alternative support services for youth. We strive to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health & mental illness through various prevention and intervention activities, as well as through education, research, and advocacy.

The Mental Health Planner (MHP) will work closely with the YN/RA core administrative team and front-line team (Youth Facilitators). The MHP is responsible for coordinating and supervising facilitators; coordinating program content, promotion, and recruitment; supporting the YN/RA Clinical Social Worker in conducting the youth intake process; and supporting YN/RA’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) in various advocacy and youth engagement projects. This individual must be highly organized and creative, possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, and have the ability to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders (e.g., youth, students/volunteers, parents, educators, community partners). Ability to work flexible hours including weekday evenings and occasional weekends.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Marketing and coordination of all mental health promotion and intervention programing (both in English and French)- Managing online scheduling system and providing technical support to community stakeholders throughout the workshop booking process- Liaising with school board administrators, community contacts, clinicians, and parents around the above activities- Recruit program participants, staff, youth advisors, and volunteers- Support and advocate on behalf of youth- Coordination of facilitator shifts and monthly meetings- Supervision of mental health promotion, youth engagement, and intervention activities, including quality monitoring- Management and communication of service statistics- Conduct program evaluations and communicate feedback- Administrative duties within the YN/RA office- Participation in the funding proposal writing and submissions- Logistics & Supplies Coordination- Participation in team meetings and team decision-making

QUALIFICATIONS- Criminal Record Check (Essential)- Post-secondary education in relevant field or equivalent with youth experience (Essential)- Relevant background in mental health (education or experience) (Essential)- Knowledge of YouthNet RéseauAdo programs and services (preferred)- Previous experience working as a Facilitator (preferred)- Experience working with youth and skills in fostering genuine youth engagement (Essential)- Bilingualism (English/French) (Essential)- Flexibility to work within a dynamic, collaborative environment (Essential)- Experience in proposal writing preferred (preferred)- Strong coordination skills and experience managing multiple projects (Essential)- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills (Essential)- Excellent oral and written communication skills (Essential)- Community liaison and networking experience (Essential)- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (Essential)- Technological proficiency and experience with graphic design and social media preferred (preferred)
