The Risk and Privacy Officer is responsible for the overall management and facilitation of the agency’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) system and the development and implementation of privacy policies and procedures. This position maintains the risk registry; identifies all insurable risks; negotiates insurance coverage; prepares presentations and annual reports for stakeholders; investigates privacy breaches and incidents; collaborates with cross-functional teams to embed privacy principles; and maintains a culture of privacy within the agency.

**Education and Professional Certification**
- Completion of a diploma in business, finance, computer science, or a related field. A degree in business, finance, computer science, or a related field is an asset.
- Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Risk Management Professional (RMP) would be an asset.
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Manager(CIPM) or Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) would be an asset.

**Experience**
- Minimum four (4) years of combined experience in enterprise risk management and insurance providing leadership, guidance, support, and development to staff and management.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Services**
- Oversee the agency’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) system, programs, services, and initiatives, and ensure alignment with policies, procedures, and strategic plan.
- Evaluate and assess complex situations, identify risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate potential threats.
- Analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework that covers all areas of the organization, including strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Communicate complex risk management concepts clearly and effectively to senior management, team members, and stakeholders.
- Maintain the risk registry.
- Identify insurable risks and negotiate insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with individual risk owners to identify, rate, and articulate initiatives to mitigate and evaluate individual risks.
- Prepare annual ERM report and presentation for stakeholders.
- Provide direction, knowledge, and support to address risk and privacy planning to departmental leadership.
- Establish and implement privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect personal data.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for privacy-related inquiries, complaints, and requests.
- Lead investigations into privacy breaches, incidents, or complaints, and develop corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Conduct privacy training and awareness programs for employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Leadership**
- Perform as a coach and mentor to the agency regarding risk management and privacy planning.
- Lead the agency in continuous quality and performance improvement.

**Management of Resources**
- Provide input into the agency’s strategic planning process from an Enterprise Risk Management perspective.
- Ensure the successful implementation of ERM initiatives and delivery of service.

**Safety**
- Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
- Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions

**Additional Requirements**
The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
