Position Overview:
As a Meat Cutter (Machine) in the Meat Section of our grocery store, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' availability of high-quality meat products. You will be responsible for operating meat-cutting machinery and assisting with various meat preparation, packaging, and display tasks. Your attention to detail, adherence to food safety guidelines, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the overall success of our meat section.

**Responsibilities**:
Operate Meat Cutting Machinery: Safely and proficiently operate meat cutting machinery, such as band saws, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers, to process various cuts of meat according to established standards and customer preferences.

Meat Preparation: Trim, bone, tie, grind, or cut meat portions to desired specifications, ensuring consistency in size, weight, and appearance. Food Safety Compliance: Follow strict food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination. Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of meat products.

Product Packaging: Package, label, and weigh meat products accurately, ensuring proper storage and display. Use appropriate packaging materials to maintain freshness and quality.

Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of meat products, notifying supervisors of low stock or potential shortages. Rotate stock to ensure the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method is followed.

Quality Control: Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and proper packaging. Report any issues or concerns to supervisors and take appropriate corrective actions.

Customer Service: Excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, providing product information, and assisting with special orders or requests.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Regularly clean and sanitize meat-cutting equipment, work surfaces, and utensils. Perform routine maintenance and report equipment malfunctions or repairs to the appropriate personnel.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other meat department staff to ensure smooth operations, support teamwork, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and meat-cutting techniques through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Experience: Previous experience as a meat cutter or in a similar role involving the operation of meat-cutting machinery is highly preferred.

Knowledge of Meat Cuts: Familiarity with various cuts of meat and their appropriate uses in cooking and preparation is advantageous.

Food Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices, to maintain a safe working environment.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in meat-cutting packaging, labelling, and inventory management.

Time Management: Effective organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage workloads, and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.

Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional customer service and address their inquiries or concerns.

Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, maintain a positive attitude, and contribute to a cohesive team environment.

Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, per business needs.
