**Job Summary**:
We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks.

Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will also run accounting software programs (e.g. SAGE Simply Accounting) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting assistant should be thorough, accurate, and honest with an understanding of basic accounting principles.

This person will also assist in answering phones, various document filing, and ISO support. This position will also be required to work effectively with all departments and prioritize their workload accordingly and manage expectations of deliverables.

Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will assist in ensuring that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

**Key Accountabilities **(including but not limited to):

- **Accounting**:

- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter accounts payable invoices into accounting software.
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track, and documentation problems and discrepancies
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
- **Maintenance of the ISO Quality Management System**:

- Document creation and maintenance for all processes (procedures and forms)
- Flow charts for all business departments and what documentation is required and when
- Standardization of non-ISO documentation (estimate sheet, manuals, reports)
- Internal Audits
- Creation, Verification, and Collation of QC and Project Binders
- **Safety**:

- Scheduling Training and maintenance of training documentation
- Maintenance of ISNetWorld safety portal
- **Schedule and document meetings**:

- **Travel accommodations coordination**:

- **Answer General phone line**:

- **And other tasks as required**

**Essential Skills**:

- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Collect timesheets and verify for accuracy prior to payroll entry
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing the mail, etc.
- Well organized
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed; productive within a team environment.
- Excellent listening and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Takes an organized and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure, results-oriented environment.
- Aptitude for following detailed, step-by-step instructions and management direction.
- Willingness to grow with position as role evolves.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual, English/French an Asset

**Required Working Knowledge (training will be provided, as needed)**:

- Norcan’s current programs and services, proprietary systems, Company policies and goals
- Operating systems: Windows 10 / Windows 7/8
- Shop Safety / WHMIS
- Products & Tools: Microsoft Office 2019
- Accounting Products: Simply Accounting SAGE 50
- Knowledge of Accounting principles
- Knowledge of ISO and Health and Safety is an asset

**Relevant Experience Required**:

- 2 years relevant experience in the field or in a related area

**Education Required**:

- College Office or Business Administration course is an asset
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Optional Certifications: ISO certification, MS Office Suite

**Working Conditions**:

- Sitting in front of a computer monitor for extended periods of time

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
