- The Opportunity
- Our Central Region Pipeline Operations team is looking to add experienced Pipeline Technicians to our growing team in the Central Region of our Canada Gas Operations.-
- As a Pipeline Technician, this position acts as the primary isolation coordinator as well as operates, maintains, tests, and inspects our natural gas pipeline, valves & operators and associated pipeline building assemblies in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.- The regular work schedule will be:_
- Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is an 8-hour day_
- Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is a Regular Day Off (RDO)_
- What you’ll do- Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TransCanada's safety, health, environment and risk standards
- Perform inspections related to valve servicing, troubleshooting and repair
- Assist with all aspects of pipeline isolation and gas handling
- Support various tasks associated with inline inspection
- Perform basic One Call line locates
- Assist with all types of Line Crossings (foreign or seismic) of TransCanada Pipe Assets
- Identify encroachment issues
- Minimum Qualifications- Journeyman certification in a trade or two years of post-secondary training
- 2 years related work experience
- Excellent work safety record and a safe work attitude
- Preferred Qualifications- 5 years relevant work experience related to Pipelines
- Experience with valve operation, inspection, maintenance and repair
- Experience operating and maintaining high pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilities
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or SAP experience
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
- Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training will be required (estimated up 50% of work schedule)
- Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
