**Tim Horton's Culinary Worker**:
**Primary Purpose**: The Culinary Worker supports the Culinary Management Team as requested. The role holder will organize FOH/ BOH workload as well as monitoring tasks to maintain high standards such as excellent customer services, cleanliness, following service standards, and delivering the service promise as well as extensive menu and allergy knowledge. The Culinary Worker will have strong organization and communication skills.

**Typical Duties/Accountabilities**
- Communicate clear instructions to team members.
- Adapts to and works calmly in an intermittently fast paced and stressful environment.
- Taking direction from the Culinary Manager, Culinary Worker works cooperatively and work with other staff to ensure seamless guest service. This includes but is not limited to covering sick and vacation time.
- Treats all confidential information and materials in a confidential manner.
- Communicates issues of importance or concern to the immediate manager in a timely manner.
- Communicates to others as required to complete assignments and support team efforts. Works to resolve conflicts and maintain harmony among co-workers. Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Effectively completes assigned projects as directed. Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
- Shows initiative and willingly works independently when required.
- Cash Handling - friendly, accurate and efficient processing of customer payments. At times, count floats, manage coin floats. Works with point of sale terminal. Cash out terminals & prepare deposits.
- Prepare some food, as required. Performs some merchandising, cleaning, stocking. Maintain service areas, coolers, storerooms in a clean and orderly way.
- Takes direction from the Culinary Manger.
- Follows standards, policies and procedures set out by Culinary Services.
- Works with the Culinary Manager to solve minor interpersonal problems within the location.
- Maintains and keeps up with changing menu knowledge and allergy information.
- Ensure that equipment is regularly checked, and the equipment is properly operated and maintained/cleaned.

**Tim Hortons Brand Specific Team Member Role**

The Restaurant Front Team Member/Culinary worker is the front line in providing the Exceptional Guest Experience through the delivery of exceptional products and service.

**_ Hospitality & Guest Service_**
- Provides important visual cues for guests that make a positive first impression E.g. wearing proper career wear that is clean and neatly pressed, maintaining a clean parking lot/exterior and a clean and inviting dining room
- Follows the guaranteed Always Fresh procedure to ensure coffee and products are always fresh and always accurate
- Delivers consistent and outstanding guest service through friendly attitude, attentive behaviour and strong product knowledge
- Enhances the guest experience by following the S.E.T. Principles: Smile, Eye Contact, Thank You
- Uses proper procedures to ensure the accuracy of every order for every
- Ensures every guest receives a prompt and warm greeting within 5 seconds at front counter and drive-thru
- Maintains speed of service targets by working efficiently with a sense of urgency to fill orders and meet guests’ needs. Ensures brand required average speed of service is achieved. This is determined by routine checks of Culinary Lead, Operations Assistant or Operations Manager.
- Must complete brand’s required training and audit with a green score. Refer to Brand’s audit scoring system
- Promptly executes service recovery for any guest concerns or complaints by making it right with the guest, regardless of involvement in the issue
- Listens carefully to guests and apologizes for the experience in the case of a complaint

**_Restaurant Operations_**
- Follows all Operations standards and guidelines for preparation of products according to training and instructional materials provided
- Prepares all products as required, following the order monitor to ensure the accuracy of every order
- Communicates showcase and product needs to ensure proper product availability for guests. This includes ordering using University’s software.
- Regularly takes temperatures of the required products and records in the Time & Temperature Log

**_Policies & Procedures_**
- Follows all restaurant policies, procedures and standards
- Maintains the front counter and other area by keeping it clean, organized, stocked and ready for rush periods in the restaurant
- Follows proper hand washing techniques and all sanitation guidelines; completes all sanitation tasks as outlined by the Operations Manager or the Culinary Lead

**_Health & Safety_**
- Works in compliance with occupational health and safety legislation
- Knows, understands and follows safe work practices and procedures
- Uses or wears personal protective equipment or clothing as required
- Reports all injuries/illnesses, accidents, uns
