Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for all accounts payable tasks such as the safeguarding, data-entry, and recordkeeping of all expenditures, including processing and tracking of expenditures within the financial systems. This is a part time role (3 days per week), working in a flexible (currently remote) work environment.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Review all purchase orders (PO), contract approval forms (CAF) and grant checklists, and ensure they are complete, budgeted and approved before entering into Navision;
- Review all invoices, expense claims and grant reports, and ensure approval before entering into Navision;
- Match all invoices, expense claims and grant reports to corresponding POs, CAFs or grant checklists in Navision;
- Ensure invoices, expense claims and grant reports are processed in a timely fashion within payment terms;
- Schedule and prepare cheques; resolve purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensure credit is received for outstanding memos; issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments;
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions;
- Serve as the first point of contact for vendors and respond to their inquiries;
- Ensure all accounts payable transactions are completed for timely preparation of month-end reports;
- Process Visa bills and reconciliations on a monthly basis;
- Raise potential issues and propose solutions to the Controller or Finance Director;
- Handle bank deposits;
- Perform other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the position, as assigned by the Controller or Finance Director.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary courses in accounts payable or accounting
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience in accounts payable
- Previous experience in customer service
- Computer experience required including proficiency with MS Office
- Experience in Dynamics Navision is an asset
