**Position Summary**

The Shipping and Receiving and Forklift Operator is critical to the successful operation of a Seabird Island Band Distribution Warehouse. The role requires a responsible operator to load and unload a multitude of material. The Operator is required to administer paperwork and account for transactional activities.

**What you’ll do**
- Maintain tidy and orderly appearance of the warehouse while minimizing hazards to operating safely.
- Minimize damaged materials and equipment by ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
- Ensure maintenance of accurate inventory first in, first out, with respect to identification, location, and quantity of all materials
- Follow an accurate schedule according to warehouse and distribution.
- Ensure materials and inventory are properly accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
- Assist in loading and unloading items from the distribution trucks.
- Check inventory receipts, and preforming data entry into the system.
- Inspect the quality and quantity of the items.
- Prepare shipping documents.
- Determine method of shipment and prepare shipping documents.
- Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping
instructions.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor, Manager, Director, Executive Director, or Chief &
Council.

**What you bring**

**Education**
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Forklift and Pallet Jack Certification

**Skills/Experience**
- Knowledge in Advanced Warehousing, storage and distribution would be an asset.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a warehousing environment.
- Self-starter and ability to think, work, and interact well with others.
- Ability to remain logical and calm while working under pressure.
- 1 year shipping and receiving experience.
- High degree of safety awareness
- Ability to balance competing priorities, multitask, and to work under pressure.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds

**Requirements**:

- Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.)
- Proficient interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to agree as well as adhere to Seabird Island Band Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Information Technology (IT) Policies and Procedures, etc.
- Knowledge, respect and understanding of Stó: lō culture, traditions and language or willingness to learn.
