**Job Summary**:

- The International Trade Manager will focus on efficiency improvements to our current export process by optimizing supply chain performance and creating standard work practices, benchmark metrics and accountability structure.
- Work with cross-functional team members to optimize export supply chain, including the creation and maintenance of a production calendar for exports
- Manage freight forwarder performance, review rate renewals and bid new business lanes and liaison with sales to support customer inquiry
- Develop best practices, benchmarking methods and process improvements
- Analyze spend performance and support Transportation budget and forecasting
- Guide the importation of raw materials in bulk ocean vessels
- Support the importation of specialized capital equipment in support of both internal and customer projects

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Maintain good relationships with vendors, service providers and production facilities to improve overall business performance, minimize cost and enhance efficiency.
- Work with vendors and production plants to identify and eliminate logistics obstacles to ensure the safe and timely shipping of products.
- Assist in managing shipment and custom activities for import services.
- Develop standard operating procedures and scheduling/shipping practices.
- Inform cost changes, shipment issues, and supply concerns to respective personnel and team promptly.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business development.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal customs laws.
- The role will manage the financial performance of our export budget, ensuring ancillary charges are at industry standards.
- Analyze spending performance and support the Transportation department in preparing the annual budget and forecast.
- In addition, the individual will manage supplier relations, including freight forwarder selection, review rate renewal increases, quote new business export lanes, and liaison with sales to address operational challenges.
- The incumbent will provide guidance and direction for the efficient and effective importation of raw materials and capital equipment, developing in-house know-how and capability.
- The role will report to the Director of Transportation

**Key Attributes & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree and College Diploma is required
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Transportation, Import/Export, supply chain planning
- Lean Six Sigma is an asset
- Experience with project / team management, industry knowledge of import / export process is required
- Experience in change management and project management is preferred
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Strong health and safety mindset
- Valid driver’s license and passport

**Salary Range**: 100-110K + Bonus
