**Primary Duties and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to**:
**Preparation of Work Assignments**
- Inspect and determine types of repairs
- Assign work to mechanics, servicepersons, welders, parts specialist and shop clerk
- Receive work requests from various divisions and individuals
- Ensure mechanical repair personal are provided tools required to perform repairs in a safe and efficient manner

**Scheduling of Preventative Maintenance**
- Daily rolling repairs
- Service Work
- Seasonal Equipment Readiness
- Mandated MVI Completion, as required
- Aerial Device Inspection, as required

**Monitor Work Performance**
- Inspect before and after equipment repairs, quality of work, and performance
- Report abuse of equipment or lack of daily operator maintenance
- Approve Work Orders and Time Submissions
- Ensure shop orderliness and cleanliness
- Ensure shop equipment remains in a safe state of repair
- Monitor use of PPE

**Parts Inventory and Outsourcing**
- Ensure parts inventory meets repair needs
- Ensure accuracy of order cost etc.
- Determines outside vender repairs requirement
- Determines appropriate vendor for required repairs

**Administrative**:

- Process Work Orders as per the Fleet Management Information System
- Check accuracy of quotes and invoices
- Prepare work and vacation schedules
- Schedule reported defect repairs
- Complete Accident and Incident Reports, as required
- Supervise employees in accordance with City policy and applicable collective agreements inclusive of hiring, ensuring satisfactory work performance, maintaining acceptable conduct including disciplinary action as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma in a related field; e.g. Mechanical Repair, Heavy Equipment Repair, etc.
- Possess a valid class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft, including experience in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- One-year previous experience in a supervisory role, in a related field.
- Three years in mechanical trades experience.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations, Ontario Health and Safety Act.
- Excellent planning, organizational and leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, and responsible manner.

- Certificate of Qualification - Truck and Coach Technician - 310T and/or Automotive Service Technician - 310S
- 421A Heavy Equipment Certification
- CSB Welder Supervision Certificate

**Salary**: $76,318.00-$90,845.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
