**Job description**

ArcelorMittal is the world's leading steel and mining company. At ArcelorMittal Brampton Tubular Products, we manufacture welded tubes using a variety of materials and finishes. Our end finished capabilities are used in many industries including automotive, furniture, construction, etc. We supply welded tubes in a variety of shapes: round, square, rectangular and elliptical.

**We are currently looking for a full-time permanent Production Supervisor. **To be successful, the individual needs proven hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

**Job Purpose**:
Responsible for day-to-day operations ensuring that productivity is achieved safely while meeting quality requirements and ensuring customer specifications and all department activities are conducted within the guidelines of the Collective Agreement, Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments and Environmental Legal and other requirements.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the daily activities of all hourly employees throughout production department (tube mills, support, cutting)
- Assist in achieving all production related goals, objectives and targets
- Coach employees, and control performance ensuring that all established productivity, quality, safety and environmental standards are maintained
- Establish manpower needs and co-ordinate activities among all work units in order to maintain productivity throughout the department and meet shipping and customer requirements. This includes monitoring shift exchanges and employee absenteeism
- Coordinate the preventive/corrective maintenance with the Maintenance Supervisor, monitor & verify the work performed
- Resolve work-related problems, prepare and submit reports
- Be a safety champion and ensure all employees comply with company policies and procedures, and current health, safety & environmental legislation
- Conduct weekly safety talks and train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Ensure all safety concerns and accidents are investigated promptly and action items to prevent reoccurrence are addressed promptly
- Continually analyzing departmental training needs for all employees and develop a plan to achieve these needs;
- Communicate and interact with related departments
- Accept other related duties as deemed necessary by management

**SHIFT: Must be available for Rotation (Days, Afternoon & Nights)**

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of High School (relevant College education considered an asset) with minimum 5 years relevant experience in a busy manufacturing environment
- Champion of safety, Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable Regulations
- Working knowledge of the latest edition of ISO 9001 & OHSAS18001
- Experience working in a Unionized environment under Collective Bargaining Agreement rules
- Strong command of English language: both oral and written
- Basic computer skills in order to generate basic reports
- Competent math skills
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate team work
- Capacity to establish priorities, develop a plan and follow through to completion
- Ability to balance production realities with customer shipping requirements
- Customer oriented attitude
- Must work well under pressure
