Dozer Operator

**Looking to hire for start of the 2023 Landscape Season**

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, Dozer Operators work in our pits to screen soil and aggregates, organize and manage landscape materials and help in the preparation of materials to supply job sites. On occasion, Dozer Operators may support earth work operations on other sites. Operators are also responsible for regular checks on equipment and ensuring they are maintained to company standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the delivery of completed landscape construction projects on, or ahead of, schedule
- Organize hard and soft landscape materials within the pit
- Safely and efficiently prep sites and support material production while in the pits
- Demonstrate the values of the organization while completing performance objectives
- Wear PPE and adhere to D&G’s Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Follow safe handling procedures for use of equipment and tools
- Conduct daily circle checks on all equipment
- Advise Operations Supervisor, Dispatcher or Fleet Manager of any non-operational or unsafe equipment and plan alternate work to keep production schedule on track.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience operating heavy equipment (preferably in a pit environment)
- Skill operating a CAT D6 or John Deere 450 (an asset)
- Experience in a range of equipment with the ability to adapt to new machinery
- Knowledge of landscape construction materials, aggregates, soils, processes and equipment (an asset)
- Adaptability to quickly respond to changing demands
- Willingness to learn and grow (advancement is a possibility for those who work for it)
- Willingness to travel between sites, as required
