**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pottery Studio Assistant to join our team As a studio assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our pottery studio and assisting the studio owner and potters with various tasks.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and maintain studio materials and supplies
- Monitor and manage inventory of supplies and materials
- Prepare pieces for firing, including cleaning, drying, and organizing
- Maintain a clean and organized studio, including cleaning and wedging clay
- Assist with receiving and processing shipments of supplies and materials
- Mix and prepare slip for casting
- Create slip cast pottery pieces, including pouring, trimming, and refining

**Requirements**:

- 1-2 years of experience in a pottery studio or related field
- Strong interest and passion in pottery as a career
- Strong knowledge of pottery techniques and processes, including slip casting and glazing
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with safety protocols and studio maintenance
- Ability to create high-quality slip cast pottery pieces with attention to detail and consistency

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in fine arts or a related field
- Basic first aid training

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $16.75-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
