**Job Summary**
The **Site Superintendent** reports directly to the Construction Manager and is responsible for running day-to-day operations on active projects.**Responsibilities**:_
- Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and practices, ensuring site is in compliance with Alberta's Occupational Health and Safety standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Lead and supervise construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines. Facilitate site meetings.
- Manage and direct site personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and other staff, ensuring efficient workflow and maintaining a positive, productive work environment.
- Monitor work quality to ensure the highest standards are met, conducting regular inspections to identify potential issues and resolving them promptly.
- Develop and manage construction schedules, coordinating with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the project.
- Oversee the procurement and delivery of materials, ensuring that all resources are on-site when needed to avoid delays.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, changes, or delays.
- Assist in managing the project budget, tracking costs, and ensuring the project stays within financial parameters. Report any variances or issues to the project manager and assist project managers with resolution of outstanding warranty claims.
- Address and resolve any construction-related issues or disputes that arise during the course of the project, utilizing a proactive approach to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, inspections, progress reports, and safety compliance documentation.
- Participate in preconstruction services on all negotiated projects including development of site logistics, project schedule and phasing, design and constructability review.
- Review and understand drawing packages & specifications and anticipate issues and potential conflicts within the packages. Follow appropriate protocols for submissions of RFIs & submittals.
- Maintain communication with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, code, and schedule.
- Proactive role in hiring, training, and development of field personnel. Monitor performance of site team and provide feedback and corrective action as necessary.
- **Qualifications & Experience**:_
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a Site Superintendent in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory role. Strong leadership and people management skills preferred.
- Knowledge of construction engineering and design. Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent an asset.
- Excellent written & verbal communication, problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in construction and project management software with experience in Microsoft Project, Buildertrend, Procore or related software considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards, with demonstrable ability to enforce safety standards on-site.
- **Requirements**:_
- Must have and maintain a valid Class 5 license, with clean driving record.
- Eligible to legally work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification is required. Successful applicants are expected to obtain within probationary period. Preference given to those holding current Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Skid Steer, Fall Protection, and other relevant safety certifications are an asset.
- Must live in the Bow Valley/be willing to drive to project sites throughout Bow Valley.
- **Compensation and Benefits**:_
- Remuneration based on experience, starting at $95,000 per year
- Minimum of 3 weeks’ paid vacation per year
- Vehicle provided for work use & cell phone allowance.
